«No Wind on the Moon» — что внутри

March 2029. Artemis Five, day four. Houston stops answering. All three Deep Space Network stations go silent at once. The crew's equipment is functioning perfectly. The problem is on the other end.

"No Wind on the Moon" follows two timelines: AFTER chapters in the controlled, protocol-driven voice of Commander Catherine Wallace on the lunar surface — a voice that gradually cracks — and BEFORE chapters through the warm, sensory eyes of pilot Nat Kaufman, cataloguing the ordinary world she is about to leave forever. Two women, two ways of being strong, separated by vacuum and linked only by radio.

This is not a survival story. The arithmetic is clear from the first pages, and no one is coming. The novel asks a quieter question: what does a person do when the mission ends but they are still breathing? What is left when there is no one to report to, no schedule to keep, no one to save?

The answer comes in fragments — a pencil moving across a page, a solar system drawn for a six-year-old son, a Russian submariner's voice on 4.250 MHz talking about his wife as though someone is listening. The novel ends mid-sentence.
